This collection consists of various newspaper and magazine articles and photographs relating primarily to Governor G. Mennen Williams of Michigan; and also includes some information on Senator Philip Hart of Michigan, Frank Blackford, and the John Glenn space shot of 1962. The materials in the collection date from 1949 to 1962. The materials regarding Blackford, head of the Liquor Control Commission and State Insurance Commission under Gov. Williams, concern charges of government graft and a speech of Blackford before the Michigan Dept. of Insurance concerning his resignation. The materials of Sen. Hart include newspaper clippings about him and photographs of his family.
